Chestnut Festival

Last year when we were in Italy one of the highlights was the Chestnut Festival in Buggio.

Buggio is a mountain town in the Liguria region of Italy not far from Pigna the  town I showed you in my last post.Buggio is a very small town and the whole population puts on the festival every year. Everyone participates, including the children.
This is the entrance to the town where one parks the car...on festival day there is a bus from the surrounding towns, as you can see the parking lot is very small.

It takes a lot of practice to do this just right.

I took the next three photos for my friends who like old and rusty things...I was thinking about you.

There was music.

And Dancing.

After the festival, as we were walking towards our restaurant, where we had a delicious and memorable dinner, I saw this lovely spot...Can you imagine sitting there sipping your vine and having a plate of antipasti?

Next time I will take you to market day, in Ventimiglia that is on the Italian Riviera.

Dreams of Italy and a Fanciful Halloween Party

A year ago I was here in Pigna...this web site is by Danish friends of the family. 
Look for the green shutters and green and white striped umbrella.

My son and his Danish family are there now.

I would go for a long walk up to the Old Mill.

And cool my feet here.

On my way I would stop at the Grotto.

I would check out the Frescoes in the 15th century church.

I wonder if the cat is still sleeping on the motorcycle.

I would check and see if the olives are ready for harvesting.

I would sit on the balcony in the company of friends...no not this one...that is my son taking photos of the one we would be sitting on.

I would be there with my Husband who alas is recovering from a kidney stone operation.
