My Ribboned Crown

I have my very own Ribboned Crown by non other than Donna  O'Brien of the Ribboned Crown. It was part of her Halloween giveaway, and I was one of the lucky winners.
It came in it's very own box that said on the front, The Devil's Call.

As I opened the box and looked inside, there was this perfect little grown, that took my breath away.
It is so beautiful and no photo could ever do it justice.
 
Brie, my Little Cat Princess, is sulking, because I will not let her wear the crown.
 
Lucky, lucky me, I have a Donna Crown :) Perhaps I will just let Brie try it on...if I do I will let you know.

Rockport and Gifts Received

Travel seems to be in my blood lately.  We just came back from a trip to New England.  My Husband's Godson got married in Rockport, Massachusetts, this past weekend.

Rockport is an idyllic town on the North Shore of Massachusetts and has always been a favorite of ours.
Here is where I get to smell the ocean and fill my mind with all the beauty this area has to offer.

Motif number one is the name of this fabulous shack that is lovingly taken care of by the town.
Years past, in a fierce storm...some called it "The Perfect Storm"...it washed out to the ocean and was promptly rebuilt.

Flowers grow well by the ocean and there are many wonderful flower gardens in the area.

On one of the docks I found this shack...lovely creative decay.

When I came back from my trip this package waiting for me from the wonderful Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist. 

See the great treasurers that were inside, all the things that I would need to make a my very own Trinket Treasure Box. The Starfish is a bonus gift, that I will use on a necklace. It is Silver from a Thai Village and Vanessa told me that the tribe that makes them is disappearing so you cn't get them anymore.

Then yesterday wonderful gift  of ATC's arrived from the very talented Suze of Pink Crayon Studio. I love the envelope...it is soft and has a wonderful texture...it is of course pink  and has Suze's very own stamp on it...that impressed me :)

She included supplies so that I can make my very own ATC. 
You may think that I have had my head in a paper sack...these are the very first ATC's I have ever held in my hands...and now I will be making my very own. Hello!!! I think it is about time.

Admiration

Back in January Sharon of All Norah's Art had a weekend challenge for her readers to make a paper doll.  I had a little time on my hands so I took her up on the challenge and made a paper doll, Princess Penelope Pig Tails.  I enjoyed the experience so much and the fact that, I won one of the prices that Sharon was giving away.  A few days later this envelope came in the mail...I felt like a kid in a candy store.

I have never had such a lovely  envelope sent to me in the mail...it is painted, has an image from the napkin that is on top of the envelope covering my address and stamped...even the postage stamps are perfection.  Inside was a sheet with two of Sharon's paper dolls, napkins, the little heart that you see on the left covering Sharon's address, a butterfly image and one of her beautiful cards.

I love this beautiful lady that she painted and I will put her in a frame...joy indeed.                                                                                                                               

I was thrilled.  When I was a little girl in Iceland, all my friends and I collected napkins.  A young Icelandic woman who is 20 years younger than I am, told me that she also used to collect napkins.....I wonder are young girls in Iceland are still collecting napkins?   
I always loved my collection and would look at my collection and plan trades for napkins I admired...desired :)
Sharon has a tutorial on her blog All Norah's Art on how to use napkins on a canvas...this weekend I am going to paint on a canvas and follow Sharon's generous tutorial.  If it comes out half way presentable I will show it to you...OK!!! I will show it not matter how it comes out.

Here is Princess Penelope Pigtails, soon she will have friends to play with...that is if I can bear to cut up the paper dolls that Sharon sent me...wait, wait that is what scanners are for, to preserve the original :)
